Citroen XM is a car that belongs to the executive category and its production was started in 1989 by the French manufacturer Citroen. The production of this executive car was stopped in 2000 and 333,775 units were sold in these 11 years. It also holds the honor to have won the European Car of the Year award for the year 1990. Citroen XM was launched to replace the CX and to complete with powerful cars at that time like Audi 100 and BMW's 5-series in a sector that accounted for 14.2% of the European market.
It went for its first facelift in the year 1994 to improve competitiveness.
