Though the power of Peugeot 607 seems something similar to the 605 the exterior has significant improvements thus distinguishing both the models when placed in the market side by side. The new front end would make the 605 and 607 totally different from one another. The new 2.7 HDi V6 operating engine would be capable of generating 150 kW with 204 PS and 201 bhp. The engine works in combination with the 6 speed automatic transmission enabled gearbox. The same power range is made available in V6 version in addition to the HDi version. The one change made for the body is the retractable metallic roof provided in the rear part, however this is more similar to the 206 and 307 CC version which was released more or less at the same time of 607.

The car retrofitting is done in accordance with the 2004 restyling concept with the modifications done to the front part thus attracting the buyers in the car market.
