citroen xantia

It is a large family car which was designed by Bertone and was manufactured by Citroen in 1993 and its production was stopped in 2001 due to some reasons. During these monumental 8 years, Citroen was successful in selling over 1.2 million units of Xanitas. Xanita was launched by Citroen to replace the world famous Citroen BX. An interesting thing is that at first, it was only made available as a hatchback but a station wagon was launched later.

The powerful feature that it had was the presence of hydropneumatic suspension system and the sales of the Xanita were higher in United Kingdom however the famous cars such as  Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Vectra did give it a really hard competition. PSA XU-series petrol engines were installed in the earlier versions and from 1995 onwards, a 1.8 16-valve and a 2.0 16-valve engine. In 1997, a 3.0 V6 engine was offered as top-of-the-line.
