Ferrari 550 and Ferrari Barchetta are closely related and both of them are 2-seat grand tourers built by Ferrari. The production started in 1996 and for the first time the front-engined V12 was used after the Daytona. Another unique feature was that the car came with the 6-speed manual gearbox located at the back and used a transaxle layout. 575 M Maranello was the one to replace the 550 line of Ferrari.

Drag coefficient (Cd) was 0.33. A drop head version of the 550 was released by the name of 550 GTZ to celebrate the 90th anniversary of long collaboration of two Italian establishments.
