Ferrari 250 is an old sports car that was produced by Ferrari in 1953 and its production continued for 11 years until 1964. Later on it was replaced by the 275 and the 330. A lot of variants and racing models of this car were released at a later point. There is one thing that most of the 250s have in common and it is two wheelbases, 2,400 mm and almost all of the 250s have the same engine: The Colombo Tipo 125 V12. At 2,953 cc (180 cu in).
The great thing about this engine is that it is light weight and delivers a great output of 300 PS (221 kW; 296 hp. Later on, Ferrari V12 engines were released. 250 S berlinetta prototype entered in 1952 and were widely appreciated because of the output they offered. It was due to the success of 250 S that Ferrari decided to launch the 250 MM version.
