The category of this car is really unique and hard to define but the nearest guess is that they can be said as mid-engined sports cars that were produced from 1975 to 1980s. For the first time, the 308 GTB series was launched at Paris Motor Show in 1975 and the purpose of its release was to replace the Dino 246. The astonishing fact about the Ferrari 308 is that although it was still built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti but the body frame work was entirely glass-reinforced plastic (or GRP).
Surprisingly, only 12,004 units of 308 GTBs were made in these 10 years. However, the 308 model was widely adored by both the Ferrari fans and the critics too and it was named as the Top Sports Cars of the 1970s. It had a 5-speed manual all-synchromesh transmission installed in it and the car had a curb weight of 1,090 kg (2,403 lb)(GTB).
