The name Honda Jazz has been propagated by Honda to market different motor vehicles since 1982. It is also known in the name of Honda Fit which is a 5-door hatchback introduced in 2001. Honda Jazz is called Honda Fit in China, Japan and Americas and in Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, Africa, Oceania and India it is known as the Honda Jazz. It is now into its third generation and it is manufactured in eight countries at ten assembly plants. By the year 2010 the sales figure of the Jazz surpassed 3.5 million units. The vehicle shares the Honda’s compact car platform with Honda City, Airwave, Spike, Mobilio, Freed Spike, etc. hybrid version of the Fit was released by Honda in 2010 and it reached Europe in the earlier 2011. A limited edition of the electric version of the Honda Fit EV was released in the US in July 2012.
