In the year 1984, Kawasaki had launched Vulcan 750 with its first V-twin engine and first cruiser across the world. But the first US model was only 699cc because of tariff limitations on imported Japanese motorbikes of more than 750 cc in the United States. In the year 1986, the running of production lifted the tariff until 2006. Throughout the production for 22 years, the VN750 model stayed mostly unchanged with just slight changes in the paint schemes and components. Shaft drive was present in the VN750 and VZ750 came which is completely rare. This model came with various subtle changes including chromed wheel arches. In the year 1990, Vulcan 500 was launched and fitted with 498 cc twin engine. After 2009, Vulcan 500 discontinued for the production run of over 20 years.
