citroen sm

The great performance coupe was manufactured and released by Citroen in the starting of 1970 and its production was continued for 5 years until 1975. Due to its great appearance and efficient interior, it also won the European Car of the Year award for the year 1971         and the next year it was also the winner of the Motor Trend Car of the Year in 1972.

The name of this car has a little bit of speculation attached to it as there is nothing official on it. People assume that because it was a part of the Project S started by Citroen and M probably comes from Maserati. One great feature that SM brought was the variable assist power steering that spread widely throughout the vehicle population. It worked great and was locked hydraulically against the steering. Another great feature of the SM was that it was unusually aerodynamic according to its size and offered great handling.
