The Ford Taunus is a family auto sold by Ford in Germany and different nations. Models from 1970 ahead were like the Ford Cortina in the United Kingdom. The model line was named after the Taunus mountain go in Germany and was first made in 1939 and proceeded through a few forms until 1994. The Ford Taunus G93a was an improvement of the Ford Eifel and utilized the same 1172 cc four barrel motor yet in a more drawn out skeleton and a streamlined body. It was the first German Ford to have pressure driven brakes.
Because of the war, generation was hindered from 1942 to 1948. 74,128 were made including home autos and light vans. The 12, 15 and 17m models had a straight-4 which in the initial 12m was a vestige of the sidevalve-motor from the first Taunus arrangement, starting with the 15m it was supplanted by an overhead-valve plan like the British Ford Consul motor.
