Renaut express can be said as a version of Renault 5 and its production was started in 1996 and it was mainly produced for South America at that time. Renault Express is basically the second generation of the Renault R5 and R5 also spawned a panel van version, known as the Renault Express. It is interested to note that the same car was advertised in some European countries as Renault Extra and also Renault Rapid Rapid in some German regions.
The main purpose of the release of the Renault Express was to replace the R4 F6 panel van whose production was stopped earlier in the 1986. The most successful engine that was introduced later was C1J (784-788) 1.4 L which had a top speed of 127 mph and which reached 0 – 62 mph in 7.5 to 7.9 seconds. The EBS versions of the Express was released in the 1989 which was a left hand drive.
