Toyota Camry Solara or Toyota Solara as it is called commonly is the Toyota Motors manufactured mid-size coupe and convertible. It is designed to appeal to the demographic of sporty owners who are other than the lovers of Toyota Camry Sedan. The Solar mixes the spacious practicality with the sporty style and looks and is supposed to project a sportier image than the Camry Sedan. All the Camry Solara models sport the insignia of Solara and the name Camry is not used on the exterior. To compete with other coupes Toyota launched Camry Solar in 1998. Most cars update their sedans and coupes at the same time, but the Solara is set back by a couple of years while updating its Sedan over the Camry. Appearance wise Solara veers away from the fourth generation Camry and has a unique front fascia, heavily creased sides, swooped roofline and rear design. The second generation Solara was debuted in 2004 being based on the 2002 Camry Sedan.
