The Audi 90 and other versions had two- and four- entryway saloons which were accessible in base trim, as L models (LS with 75 PS motor) or as a more sumptuous GL (85 PS just).
In September 1973, Audi included the energetic 80 GT (two-entryway just) offering a carbureted 1.6-litre motor (code: XX) appraised at 100 PS (74 kw; 99 bhp). This variant of the 90 had a 1.5 L motor evaluated at 55 hp (41 kw; 56 PS) appended to a four-speed manual transmission. Consequent forms accompanied 1.6 L motors appraised at 83 hp (62 kw; 84 PS).
