This great looking sport bike was manufactured by Ducati in 2009 and its production was discontinued in 2011. During these two years of production, two models were made; 1198 and 1198 SP and the former of them had a close resemblance with its predecessor 1098. However the 1198 had more power and torque, redesigned wheels, lighter headlights, traction control, and lighter fairing.
The claims from Ducati tell that these two engines and their variants produce 170 hp (127 kW), 97.1 lbf·ft (131.6 N·m) torque, and has a dry weight of 173 kg (381 lb). The bike has a wheelbase of 1,430 mm (56.3 in) and the front brakes are 2 x 330 mm (13.0 in) semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc calipers 4-piston, 2-pad. The bike had the power to produce a displacement of 1,198.4 cc (73.1 cu in). This bike generated good sales for Ducati 1198 and was a success overall.
