This bike came in the shiny red color that was adored by the bike lovers around the world and it superseded the Massimo Tamburini designed Ducati 916, Ducati 996 and Ducati 998 range of superbikes in 2003. The production of the 999 was ended in 2006 and it was designed by a famous designer Pierre Terblanche. There was a lot of controversy on this design at that time. However, if we put the design aside for a moment, we would know that it is a high performance bike oriented for racing.
A high spec suspension was installed in the bike to offer a great handling. Later on, two more high performance models 999S and 999R were also released. They were capable of reaching 62 mph in less than 3 seconds and had a top speed of 170 mph. They were really race oriented and offered great features for the riders.
