The BMW New Class (German: Neue Klasse) was a line of minimized cars and roadsters created by German automaker BMW somewhere around 1962 and 1977. The New Class guaranteed BMW's dissolvability after the organization's fiscal emergencies of the 1950s and created the personality of BMW vehicles as games cars. The term New Class alluded to the 1.5–2–liter class of autos from which BMW had been nonattendant since World War II.
The New Class started in 1962 with the 1500, another car with another motor. The 1500, and all resulting New Class autos, had an unit body, completely autonomous suspension with Macpherson struts in front and semi-trailing arms at the back, front circle brakes, and a front-mounted four-chamber M10 motor.
At first an arrangement of four-entryway cars, the New Class line was increased to incorporate the 2000c and 2000cs two-entryway roadsters at the high end in 1965 and the 1600-2 two-entryway economy vehicle at the low end in 1966.
