Chevrolet Uplander was a minivan from General Motor’s Chevrolet division. It was the replacement for Astro and Venture. Though it was introduced in 2005 it coincided with model year of the Astro and Venture. The platform on which it was built was borrowed from the Buick Terraza, Pontiac Montana SV6 and Saturn Relay. The last of the Uplander was built in the Doraville, Georgia after which it was closed in September 2008. Uplander was the last minivan to have the steering column supported gearshift while its rivals had moved to the center console. Uplander and its three clan member had a few differences and the most notable was the child seat in the Uplander LS and it was also offered in a cargo and 2-wheel drive versions in the US market. The price range of the Uplander started at $21, 250 and up to $33,795. Uplander was also sold to Mexico, Chile, Canada, Middle East and Canada.
