This car was the most popular in North America during the 60s and early 70s and the models included Impala, Bel Air and Biscayne. It was introduced as a luxury package in 1965 for the 4-door hardtop Impala and was continued as an exclusive line of Caprice models through 1966 and future models which included an Estate station Wagon, a formal hardtop coupe. The model also won the Motor Trend Car of the Year with its downsized model in 1977 and the redesigned model of 1991. Caprice’s production was halted in 1996 and it resurfaced again in 2011 for North America as a full size police vehicle with rear wheel drive. Holden the GM subsidiary has been building Caprices since 1999 and marketing them to the Middle East.
