The Ford Maverick was a minimal auto made from April 1969 to 1977 in the United States, Venezuela (first nation outside the States to create them), Canada, Mexico and from 1973 to 1979 in Brazil — utilizing a back wheel drive stage dating to the first 1960 Falcon. Initially promoted as a two-entryway vehicle at a cost of Usd$1,995, the Maverick was intended to be economical to make and keep up.
The name dissident was determined from the statement for unbranded extent creatures, and the auto's nameplate was adapted to look like a longhorned cow head. The Maverick was initially considered and promoted as a subcompact "import warrior", expected to do fight with the Volkswagen Beetle and more up to date Japanese rivals. The Falcon, Ford's smaller offering since 1960, had seen its deals destroyed by the presentation of the Mustang in 1964, and regardless of an upgrade in 1966, was not able to meet expected the U.s.
