The Opel Vectra is made available in three generations of which the present is the Vectra C which is actively applicable from the year 2002 to 2008. The major facelift that took place in 2005 has retained the older engines without any change but with increased power of 3.0 diesel version to new power range of 137 kW giving 184 hp. However, the petrol V6 was replaced by the turbo charged 2.8 L high featured V 6 Unit which is capable of producing 170 kW giving the horsepower of 228 hp. The other high performance oriented change is the use of OPC version in two variants like the 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmissions. However the high power engines are made available only in the hatchback and station wagon body styles. The new 2.8L DOHC V6 turbo engine has the credit of generating 276 horsepower with 206 kW power. This shows that year after year the engine power is increasing thus making it more suitable for more powerful drive as is required by the present generation youth.
