Renault Escape can be categorized as a multi-purpose-vehicle or MPV whose production was started in 1984 and it is being still produced nowadays. There have been 3 successful generations of the car and it is currently in its 4th generation. It has a capacity to seat 7 passengers. The name comes from the French language which means space. It went its first facelift phase in 1988 and came back with changed headlights: the forward-slanting lights with orange indicator casing of the original Espace were replaced with backward-slanting lights with a clear indicator casing.
In 1995 the Renault also made its way in Escape F1 and was also successful in there. The updated engine and the transmission made the car eligible to reach the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Later on a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox was also introduced, also used in the Williams FW15C. The 3rd generation of the car lasted from 1997 to 2003.
