Volkswagen Transporter is from the series of Vans produced by the Volkswagen group and the VW T-platform based vehicle is into is fifth generation. They were manufactured and marketed for 60 years across the globe. The T-platform is termed as the Volkswagen group’s official platform for automotive ventures and the generations were named sequentially as T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5. The transporter variants included light commercial vehicles such as minivans, vans, campervans, pickups and mini busses. There was competition for Transporter in Toyota Hiace, Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Vito. The type 2 of the Volkswagen was the donor for the Transporter family. The type 2 Transporter was sold from 1967 to 1979 and from 1972 onwards and a VW Type 4 engine was available as an option. The Type 2 Transporter was also the last one to use air cooled engine in its T25 sold in the Unites States.
