Mazda Demio is also called as the Mazda 2 and it has been manufactured by Mazda since 1996.it is a supermini class car with a front engine layout supported by FWD and 4-wheel drive. The car superseded the Mazda 121 and presently in its third generation. In the global market it is known by the name of Mazda 2 and earlier under several names that included Mazda Metro, Ford Festiva Mini Wagon and Mazda 121. The 2008 World Car of the Year was bestowed upon the Mazda Demio. This car from B-segment was based on the Mazda D platform. It was assembled at the Hiroshima Plant of Mazda, Yokohama, Japan and Valencia, Spain. It was offered as a 5-door hatchback and a 1.3 L I4 or 1.5 L I4 engine was integrated into it. The wheelbase of the Mazda 2 was 94.1 inches, length 149.6 inches and 60.4 inches height. The car is now in its third generation of production.
