Unlike the name Mitsubishi Carisma, it is quite neutral in design without more add-on features on the exterior or interior. The design is intended to serve the more conservative group of customer and hence is the reason not many charming features are introduced in the model. Starting from the inline – four gasoline supported with 1.6 L but using the multi point fuel injection there are number of modifications done for the engine. Instead of the multi point fuel injection the gasoline direct fuel injection is introduced in the later models with the tank capacity raised to 1.8 L. It is no where lower than the other models operating with the 5 speed manual and 4 speed auto.
In spite of the facelift done in the year 1999 there are no major changes either to the interior or the exterior and hence the body style is confined and fixed to 4 door salon and 5 door hatchback.
