The production of Dodge Intrepid was started in 1993 and it was made available in 4 door, full size and front wheel drive sedan car in the beginning. For the design of the Intrepid, Kevin Verduyn gets the credit to design the initial exterior design of a new aerodynamic concept sedan called Navajo. However, the first generation of the Intrepid started in 1993 and initially it was available in two trim levels at that time; base and sportier. Moreover, 4 disc wheel brakes were also added to give more security.
The engine used in the first generation was a 3.3 L pushrod V6. The interesting thing to note here is that the Intrepid also made a debut in NASCAR circuit in 2001. The car got really popular because of the features it offered and the Intrepid and Concorde were on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1993 and 1994.
