This full size pickup track was first produced by Dodge in 1981 and it used to be a part of light trucks lineup. Currently Ram is in its fourth generation which was started in 2009. It is due to its great features and amazing performance that it has won the Truck of the Year award five times. At present, the Ram is being made available in United States, Canada, Mexico and Peru Only. The first generation was started in 1983 and 5.9 L V8 also received throttle body fuel injection for a 20 hp (15 kW) gain.

Later on, a Cummins B Series engine was added to lineup to further enhance the performance and give the drivers something more to hold on to. The great thing about them was that the Cummins could be coupled with a heavier-duty version of the A727 automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. All of these engines were turbocharged.
