The production of the Renault 19 was started in 1988 and it got really fame in Argentina and Turkey where the production was extended until 2000. The interesting thing about the Renault 19 is that it was intended for sale as a replacement for both the 9 and 11 at that time because they were getting old. Giorgetto Giugiaro was the person who style the Renault 19.
The first sedan model of the Renault 19 was presented for sale in 1990 and it was strange that the Chamade badge was removed in the 1992 facelift and a “Europa” tag was there instead. A four-speed automatic transmission was given in the 1990 and a three speed automatic was also there. The sale of the R19 continued in the Europe until 1996 but in Argentina and Turkey it was still sold until 2000. 16S hot hatch is a model that was introduced in 1990 with distinctive air inlet on the bonnet, a rear spoiler, 15 inch "Speedline" alloy wheels, side skirts, twin headlamps, bucket seats.
